When will someone make a gender-swapping plug-in for real life? Where’s my magic button, the switch I can flip to show men like you what it feels like on the other side of your “jokes” and “compliments”? Maybe the first time someone comments on your ass in public you’ll take it as a compliment, but what about the next 12 times? How will you like having a private conversation interrupted so that some dude can get in a lame sexual pun or a rude gesture to impress his friends? What about your personal space? How do you like sharing that with aggressive strangers?                                      

You don’t get it because in your world, this is just you being clever and hilarious, just a little light-hearted late-night banter! Where’s my sense of humor? Dude, you are the third, or fifth, or ninth man this week to be rude to me, to think that what you want—to get a rise from your friends, to make your desire known, to make me uncomfortable, to project some twisted “proof” of your virility into the air—is more important than my comfort or safety. This is really important for those of us who are fighting rape culture here in Brazil!

There’s a very famous blog in Brazil called Testosterona. Its slogan is “The modern male’s blog” and all of its content is misogynistic, sexist, offensive and, sometimes, aggressive - towards women, of course. Until now, everything’s permitted for the sake of “humor”, but we’ve had ENOUGH! This blog’s posts have gone too far.

Some months ago, a “funny” video was posted, called “How to Get Your Girlfriend to Have Anal Sex”. This video consists of an acting, showing a young couple: Billy and his girlfriend (as far as I remember, the girlfriend doesn’t have a name). The narrator tells us that Billy wants to have anal sex with his girlfriend, but she doesn’t. Obviously, Billy does not respect her and tries to convince her in several ways.

At the end of the video, the narrator tells Billy to knock her up with a brick, take her - unconscious - to bed and rape her. Yes, you read correctly. The video shows it: Billy hitting her with a brick and both of them on bed after, the girl unconscious, and Billy very happy for finally having anal sex. Or better, let’s give it the right name: for RAPING his girlfriend.

As if it wasn’t disturbing enough already, the video ends with the narrator saying, with a laughing voice: “She’s not laughing now, is she?” and, finally, some sentences appear on the screen, telling us why anal sex is better. Two sexual/pleasure-related reasons are given and the last one is: “Because it is more degrading to women!” (this reason is stressed as the most important!)

I don’t think this needs further explanation. Anyone who thinks this is funny needs to consider becoming a decent human being for a change.

Testosterona’s owner has deleted this video from the blog. But he continues to degrade and offend women in unacceptable levels (as if any level of it were acceptable at all…) and MTV continuous to sponsor it!

This shit needs to stop. We don’t deserve being so aggressively offended for the sake of “humor”. This is not humor, this is rape culture being openly supported.

Help us pressure MTV President, Mr. Van Toffler, so MTV Brazil stops sponsoring and supporting this disgusting blog.

You can use the questions from the Truthout comments section, generate queries among your own communities, or just straight-up ask Akin to identify the different between your vag and, say, a praying mantis. Which, actually, is pretty damn good at shutting “that whole thing down.”

We’d like questions on sex and reproductive health, of course, but questions about gender seem appropriate too. Marriage, partner benefits—it seems a little bit endless, what we must ensure congress knows before further legislation is enacted. Anything. Be creative. Be funny. Be accurate. Use evidence-based resources, and cite them, so interested parties (R, D) can read more.

Last week, Paul Ryan gave an interview in which, defending his position that there should be no excuses for abortion, he referred to rape as a “method of conception.”

Pussy Riot tweeted on Sunday that the two activists had fled Russia and are “recruiting foreign feminists to prepare new protest actions.” No mention was made of where they went.

Well, we can only assume he does.  Akin recently stated that he has spoken to doctors who have told him that, in cases of “legitimate rape,” the female body has biological defenses to prevent pregnancy.

It is possible that he has somehow confused human vaginas with duck vaginas, which have evolved natural defenses against rape-happy male ducks.

I now ask you, ladies and gentlemen, how does one confuse a human vagina with a duck vagina?  Hmm?

The answer is clear: Todd Akin fucks ducks.  He is a duckfucker. 

Maybe this isn’t true, but since Akin feels no need to check his facts re: human biology or his fucked-up use of the term “legitimate rape,” I’m not feeling too keen on checking mine re: his duckfucking or lack there-of.

So, it’s pretty simple.  Don’t vote for this duckfucker right here.

Basically, this is just some sexist bullshit. We don’t expect men to run around grinning like a bunch of fools. When they look mad, we call it “brooding” or “masculine”. Why the hell should women be expected to look happy and open to your sleazy advances all the time? What drives me even crazier is when a guy says something like, “why don’t you put a smile on that beautiful face?” Because I don’t give two shits about looking beautiful right now and I certainly am not concerned with looking attractive for your dumb ass.
