PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

permanent-o-b-status:

TIPS ON REGISTERING TO VOTE Y’ALL.

  • The deadline is October 12. It needs to most likely be IN YOUR COUNTY’S BOARD OF ELECTIONS OFFICE BY 5 PM ON THAT DAY. NOT POSTMARKED. THERE. IN THE OFFICE.
  • Please print clearly and legibly. Don’t forget to indicate that you are a citizen, and your date of birth, and to sign the form.
  • MAKE SURE THE MAILING ADDRESS IS CORRECT. If it’s different from your residential address, be sure to put it down.
  • Depending on your state’s ID laws, you will probably have to provide some form of citizenship anyway with the last four digits of your Social or a current driver’s license number.
  • The EAC (eac.gov) has a nationally-recognized voter registration form that tells you all of this! It’s a very good resource, and nonpartisan, and official.
  • If you do miss the deadline, look up the deadlines for early voting! Early voting sites offer in person registration. It’s awesome.
  • Don’t forget that you can vote absentee by mail, if you’re overseas or away from home at school but still wish to vote on the contests in your home precinct.
  • But seriously.
  • Print legibly.
  • Check the citizenship box.
  • Put your date of birth.
  • SIGN THE DAMN FORM
